Applications are now open for the 2025 RAIN Scholarship, designed to support young talents in robotics and artificial intelligence across Nigeria and West Africa. The scholarship offers hands-on training and partial tuition support to help prepare the next generation of tech innovators.
About the 2025 RAIN Scholarship
Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN), registered since 2019 under RC1607482, invites applications from graduates ready to dive deep into robotics, automation, and AI. All training will take place in Ibadan.
Available Programmes
- Robot Development and Automation (RDA) – 12 months
Covers robotics design, drone technology, IoT, and embedded systems.
Structure:
- Weeks 1–12: Basics
- Weeks 13–34: Advanced robotics and automation
- Weeks 35–49: Final project
- Weeks 50–52: Evaluation
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) – 12 months
Focus on Python, data science, neural networks, NLP, and computer vision.
Structure:
- Weeks 1–12: AI foundations and Python
- Weeks 13–34: Advanced topics
- Weeks 35–49: Capstone
- Weeks 50–52: Final assessment
- Combined AIML + RDA – 24 months
A full-track programme combining software and hardware training.
What You Get
- Partial tuition sponsorship worth up to ₦7.7 million
- A starter kit
- Hands-on training with real-life projects
- Exposure to industry practices over 12 or 24 months
Who Should Apply
Open to graduates who:
- Are from Nigeria or West Africa
- Have strong coding skills (Python, C++, or C preferred)
- Hold degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
- Are willing to relocate to Ibadan
- Own a laptop (minimum Core i7, 16GB RAM)
A first-class degree is an advantage, but not mandatory. What matters most is commitment, skill, and a passion for tech.
