Admission Requirements
Social and Management Sciences
Candidates must pass five subjects at Credit Level in no more than two sittings in SSCE/GCE exams by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB. These subjects must include the core ones related to their intended course of study. Credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are mandatory for all programmes. Two of the five subjects should be from Social Arts, and the remaining may be from Social Sciences.
Engineering and Sciences
Candidates must pass at Credit Level in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in no more than two sittings in SSCE/GCE exams by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
Programme Duration
The remedial programme spans two semesters, equating to one academic session
Eligibility
This programme is primarily for candidates who could not secure admission into AFIT due to a UTME score below the JAMB cut-off point. Candidates who applied to other universities may also be considered.
General Conditions
Applicants with credit passes in five O-Level subjects but with a deficiency in English Language or Mathematics may apply. However, they must obtain a credit pass in the deficient subject before being considered for a degree programme. Admission consideration will be based on performance and quota for each programme. Remedial candidates who pass the Schoolโs examinations and meet the UTME cut-off point will be considered for admission into degree programmes based on performance and quota.
Method of Application
1. Visit the School of Basic and Remedial Studies website and follow the link for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
2. Complete the application forms online after paying a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00 ) using an Interswitch-enabled ATM card.
3. Successful candidates must bring the completed form and SSCE/GCE certificates/result slip during registration.
The application portal opens on Monday, 29th July, 2024.
