CLARITY-Africa is now taking applications for its 2025 PhD scholarship programme.
This offer is for students who want to study topics linked to climate change and public health.
The PhD will be held at either the University of Ghana or the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre.
CLARITY-Africa works on how climate affects daily life in African cities.
This work looks at heat, floods, and the spaces and people most at risk.
The team runs the project in Accra, Tamale, Kigali, and Musanze.
Imperial College London leads the work, joined by top African universities and city groups.

Meet the Application Rules
To qualify, you must:
- Be from any African country.
- Have a Masterโs degree in a related field.
- Fields include climate science, economics, geography, demography, public health, environmental studies, maths, and physical sciences.
- Be ready to study topics linked to CLARITY-Africa.
- Know how to use research tools and explain ideas clearly.
- Show proof of past study work and research promise.
- Current PhD Year 1 students at the University of Ghana can also apply.
Prepare These Documents
Each application must include:
- Statement of purpose (up to 2,000 words) showing interest and use of the support.
- Two-page research proposal.
- Full academic CV with study and research record.
- Copies of graduate certificates and transcripts.
- Names, emails, and phone numbers of two academic referees.
