Are you a Nigerian student hoping to study in Japan for free? The MEXT Scholarship 2026 offers full funding for undergraduate, masterโs, PhD, and technical studies.
Who Can Apply?
Choose from four categories:
- Research (Masterโs, PhD, or non-degree): Born on or after 2 April 1991
- Undergraduate: Born on or after 2 April 2001
- Specialised Training College: Born on or after 2 April 2001
- College of Technology: Born on or after 2 April 2001
What You Must Submit
- Completed application forms
- Academic transcripts
- Degree/graduation certificates (notarised copies only)
- Do not send originals
- Incomplete applications will be rejected
How to Submit
Only hard copies are accepted. Send by post, courier, or deliver in person to:
Embassy of Japan
No. 9 Bobo Street, off Gana Street
Maitama, Abuja
Deadline: Friday, 30 May 2025
Email or online applications will not be accepted.
After Submission
Only successful applicants will be contacted by mid-June. Selection may change due to curfews or travel bans.
