FUAHSE Gets NUC Approval to Run 16 Academic Programmes


The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 16 academic programmes for the commencement of full-fledged award of degrees by the newly established Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE).

The NUC, in October 2024, conducted verification of the degree programmes proposed by the University, which were assembled as unique allied health science courses to begin operations.

Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. John Emaimo, announced the approval during an expanded management meeting.

List of 16 Approved Programmes:


• Nursing Science
• Medical Laboratory Science
• Radiography
• Social Work
• Public Health
• Dental Technology
• Dental Therapy
• Medical Rehabilitation Therapy (Physiotherapy)
• Prosthetics and Orthotics
• Health Information Management
• Healthcare Management
• Biomedical Engineering
• Human Anatomy
• Physiology
• Biochemistry
• Microbiology

Key Highlights:
Prof. Emaimo emphasized that FUAHSE will adopt innovative approaches to education, setting itself apart from other institutions. He also attributed the transformation of the former College of Dental Technology and Therapy into a University of Allied Health Sciences to its excellence in academics and extracurricular activities.

He further disclosed that the admission process for the 2024/2025 academic session has commenced. Candidates with a minimum score of 160 marks in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to apply via the University portal.
