The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships offer an exceptional opportunity for international students to pursue advanced-level studies in Ireland. This programme is supported by the Irish Government and managed by the Higher Education Authority (HEA).
Scholarship Overview
The scholarship provides 60 awards annually for one year of full-time study at NFQ levels 9 or 10. The selected students will study at Irish higher education institutions in collaboration with the Irish Government.
Benefits
- A stipend of €10,000 for the duration of the study year.
- Waiver of all tuition fees and registration costs at the host institution.
- The scholarship must be used for studies beginning in September or October 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Be from outside the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and the UK.
2. Have secured admission to a master’s, postgraduate diploma, or PhD programme at an eligible Irish institution.
3. Submit a conditional or final offer of admission along with the scholarship application.
4. Have not received this scholarship in the past.
5. Russian and Belarusian nationals are excluded due to current international conflicts.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Academic performance.
- Communication skills.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities, such as humanitarian work, arts, politics, or sports.
Candidates must also demonstrate how the scholarship aligns with their academic and career goals and explain why they wish to study in Ireland.
