The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) introduces customised SIMs for UTME registration.
This announcement marks a significant step in addressing the persistent issue of theft or loss of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards. In a collaborative effort with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), JAMB will provide candidates with personalised SIM cards specifically for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.
During a visit by the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF) delegation to his office on 27th June 2024 in Abuja, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, shared details about this initiative.
The customised SIMs are designed solely for UTME registration and will be accessible to parents.
These SIMs will have a five-year expiry date.
