NYSC Removes Name Change Requirement for Redeployment of Married Female Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a new policy for married female corps members seeking redeployment. From now on, female corps members who are married will no longer be required to change their maiden name to their spouseโ€™s name as part of the redeployment process.

This change was confirmed in a circular issued on November 25, 2024, by the Director of Corps Mobilisation, Abubakar Mohammed. The revised criteria for the concessional deployment or relocation of married female corps members also emphasize that while the name change is no longer necessary, other requirements for redeployment remain unchanged.

State and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Coordinators have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with this new directive. Directors of area offices will also be monitoring the implementation of this policy.

This update aims to simplify the redeployment process for married female corps members, ensuring that they can be relocated without the need for a name change.
