Shell Nigeria Sabbatical Attachment for University Lecturers is now open for 2025. Apply by 1st December 2024 for a chance to gain industry experience and contribute to Shell.
Overview
The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) invites applications from eligible university lecturers for its 2025 Sabbatical Attachment Programme.
This initiative offers senior lecturers and professors the opportunity to contribute to Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN) through research or other activities. Participants can gain industry experience and teach at SPDC JV Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
Eligible Teams and Disciplines
The sabbatical programme is open in the following areas:
1. Environment
- Impact Assessment
- Biodiversity
- Environmental Toxicology
- Air Quality
- Hydrobiology
- Water Chemistry
- Hydrogeology
- Ecology
2. Corporate Relations
- Social Impact Assessment and Management
- Host Community Development Trust (HCDT)
- Stakeholder Relations
3. Community Health
- Community Health
- Obstetrics
- Gynaecology
- Paediatrics
4. Nigerian Content Development
- Professors in any engineering discipline, particularly Process and Project Engineering
5. Real Estate
- Professors with a minimum of three years in Civil Engineering
6. NNPC/SPDC-JV Centres of Excellence
- Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin:
- Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering
- Marine and Offshore Engineering, Rivers State University:
- Marine/Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture
- Environmental Management and Green Energy, University of Nigeria, Nsukka:
- Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Microbiology, Biotechnology
Application Guidelines
Applicants must provide the following:
- A letter stating their team or discipline of interest.
- A curriculum vitae with contact details, including phone number, email address, and addresses of three referees.
- A one-page summary detailing how they plan to add value to SCIN during the 12-month sabbatical.
Applications should be sent to SPDC-University-Relations@shell.com with the job title as the email subject.
