About TechGirls
TechGirls is a U.S.-based summer exchange program that aims to empower young girls (ages 15-17) from the U.S . and select countries worldwide.
The program focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on skills training.
Program Highlights
The 2025 program will include:
- 111 young girls from 37 countries and 13 U.S . peers
- A dynamic three-week experience in the U.S .
- A seven-month mentoring program with pre- and post-exchange support
Program Structure
Participants engage in a 23-day program in the U.S . in partnership with Virginia Tech. They participate in:
- A tech camp covering advanced technologies and STEM careers
- Community immersion in cities like Austin, Cincinnati, and Seattle for career exploration
- A mentoring program for community-based projects upon return
Eligible Countries
Selected participants come from regions like:
- Sub-Saharan Africa: Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia
- East Asia and Pacific: Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Taiwan, Vietnam
- Europe and Eurasia: Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Tรผrkiye
- Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia
- South and Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
- Western Hemisphere: Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Suriname
