UMYU Approves Expulsion, Rustication & Warning For Students Involved In Exam Misconduct

The Senate of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, at its 125th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, has approved disciplinary actions against students involved in examination misconduct.

Following the recommendations of the University Central Examination Misconduct Committee (UCEMC), 57 students have been expelled for their involvement in various forms of exam malpractice.

This action reflects the University's firm stance on upholding academic integrity.

Additionally:
5 students have been rusticated for two semesters (2024/2025 session), and the affected examination papers have been cancelled.

2 students received official written warnings, which will remain in their academic records.

These measures aim to deter future occurrences and reinforce the University's commitment to academic excellence and discipline.

The management has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for exam malpractice and advised all students to adhere strictly to academic rules and conduct themselves ethically at all times.
