The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced job openings for academic and non-academic staff positions.
This recruitment drive is open to both internal and external candidates who are interested in joining one of Nigeria’s most prestigious universities.
Application Deadline: The portal will remain open for six weeks from the date of the announcement.
All applications must be submitted online via the official UNIBEN job portal.
Academic Staff Positions
Here’s what you need depending on the role:
– Professor / Associate Professor: Ph.D ., years of teaching and published research
– Senior Lecturer: Ph.D ., 5+ years experience, and at least 8 publications
– Lecturer I & II: Ph.D . or Master’s with experience, 3+ publications
– Assistant Lecturer: Master’s degree and Ph.D . in progress
– Graduate Assistant: At least Second Class Upper, NYSC certificate
Required Documents:
– Comprehensive CV
– All academic credentials (degrees, NYSC, etc.)
– List of publications
– Contact info of 3 referees (one must be your last employer)
Note: Referees must send their reports directly to the Registrar within one week after applications close.
Non-Academic Staff Positions
Openings also exist in admin, medical, technical, and junior staff roles, such as:
– Administrative Assistant: Degree (min Second Class Lower), computer skills
– Confidential Secretary I/II: HND or ND in Secretarial Studies + strong typing/shorthand
– Medical Officers, Nurses, Lab Technologists: B.Pharm , RN/RM, BMLS + valid registration
– Senior Driver: WAEC/NECO + valid driver’s license + 4 years experience
– Clerical Officers & Lab Assistants: Minimum of 5 credits in WAEC/NECO
– Computer Operators: 5 credits + certificate in computer operation
