The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced a major change for the 2025/2026 admission exercise. The Post-UTME aptitude test has been cancelled. Instead, candidates will now be screened using their O’level results through a Point Tally System.
What the School Said
– The Post-UTME registration portal has been closed.
– There will be no examination for screening.
– Candidates will be assessed using their O’level grades.
Why the Change
The decision was made to ease the stress on candidates who previously had to travel to Calabar for the test. Issues of transport costs, safety, and convenience influenced the move.
What This Means for Candidates
– If you already registered for Post-UTME, the test is no longer holding.
– Your WAEC or NECO results will now be used for screening.
– Admission decisions will be based on the tally point system, not a computer-based exam.
Candidates are therefore advised to ensure their O’level results are complete and correctly uploaded, as this will be the determining factor for admission.
