The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced the appointment of three retirees as emeritus professors. These appointments recognize their exceptional contributions to academia and the university community.

University of Ilorin Appoints Three Emeritus Professors
The Senate of the University of Ilorin approved the appointments during its 304th meeting. The retirees honoured with this title have made significant impacts in their fields and to the academic community.


Names of the Appointed Emeritus Professors:

1. Prof. Is’haq Oloyede

- Retired in October 2024 from the University of Ilorin.

- Former Vice-Chancellor of the university.

- Currently serving as the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).


2. Prof. Olu Obafemi

- Distinguished scholar in English and Dramatic Literature.

- Retired from the University of Ilorin in 2020.


3. Prof. Musbau Akanji

- Accomplished scholar in Biochemistry.

- Former Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

- Retired in 2021.

These appointments celebrate their lasting impact on education, research, and their respective fields of expertise. UNILORIN acknowledges and appreciates their legacy within the academic community.
