The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) community is gripped by grief and outrage following the tragic death of Ajana Chioma Isabella, a law student battling chronic illness. Isabella, who was diabetic, reportedly died after being denied access to her medication due to a rigid hostel management policy.
According to sources, the incident began when Isabella misplaced her room key. In urgent need of her medication, she approached the hostel authorities for a spare key. However, she was allegedly told that a replacement key would only be issued after paying a costly fee โ a strict policy enforced regardless of emergencies.
This delay proved devastating. Unable to retrieve her drugs, Isabella reportedly went into hypoglycemic shock. Though rushed to the hospital, she passed away a few days later.
