Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant positions of Principal and Vice-Principal at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta International School (FUNIS)

The School

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta International School (FUNIS) is a premier, private, co-educational day and boarding school, established in September, 2004. It was founded to provide a comprehensive secondary school education and mould characters of young boys and girls who would grow up and stand out tall among their peers in academic pursuits, commitment to duty, high moral values and service to the nation and mankind.

It is located within the University’s vast expanse of land on Alabata Road, Abeokuta.

1. Principal

The Position:

FUNIS is seeking a dynamic and ambitious individual between ages 45 and 55 years to provide the leadership required to move the school to its next phase and help achieve its growth aspirations. The Principal will report directly to the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB through the Board Chairman and FUNAAB Schools Management Board.

He/She will be responsible for the future direction and success of the school. He/She will need to demonstrate the capacity to provide strong, collaborative educational and administrative leadership and manage the implementation of change. The successful candidate must show a capacity to drive quality, well-rounded education that meets the needs of students with a range of abilities and culturally diverse backgrounds. Other key criteria include:

(i) Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

(ii) High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

(iii) Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

(iv) A high level of personal sensitivity and professional skill in dealing with students, parents, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff, colleagues, as well as external stakeholders.

Qualification/Experience:

The candidate should:

-Have a First Degree in Education or First Degree with NCE or First Degree with PGDE.

– Be a seasoned and Certified Teacher (TRCN Registered).

– Have a minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience which must include a minimum of twelve (12) years working experience in Education and must have experience working as a Principal, Vice-Principal or in an Administrative capacity, implementing change and securing institutional improvement at a Senior Management position.

Master’s Degree in Education will be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate must possess:

– The attributes of integrity, conscientiousness, adaptability and optimism.

-Strong ability to coordinate, prioritize and organize workload, take initiative and work under pressure.

– An extensive network of contacts in the Nigerian educational industry and be able to articulate clear ideas for moving FUNIS to the next level.

Salary:

FUNICONS 14 – (N3,363,134.04 – N4,462,271.04 )

2. Vice-Principal

Qualification/Experience:

The candidate should:

-Have a First Degree in Education or First Degree with NCE or First Degree with PGDE.

-Be a Seasoned and Certified Teacher (TRCN Registered).

-Have a minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience which must include a minimum of ten (10) years working experience in Education.

He/She must have attained the position of Chief Tutor, Vice-Principal or its equivalent.

Master’s Degree in Education will be an added advantage.
