Health-focused businesses across Africa can now apply for the Villgro Africa Health Equity Programme 2025. This initiative supports enterprises that improve healthcare access in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Organisers
This programme is led by Boehringer Ingelheim and Villgro Africa.
Programme Structure
The support runs in two 6-month phases:
Incubation Phase
- Weekly coaching sessions
- Monthly training on business and investment planning
- Pitch session to qualify for the next phase
- Access to grant funding based on specific needs
Acceleration Phase
- Intensive two-week coaching
- Group meetings with health industry leaders
- Research and funding support
- Direct investor engagement
- Presentation at the Making More Health Together (MMH T) event in Germany
What You Get
- Up to $80,000 in grant support
- 12 months of expert coaching
- Investor access and pitch opportunities
- Strategic reviews and business improvements
- Exposure at a global health event
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a for-profit health business active in Africa
- Have at least $250,000 annual revenue
- Serve 60,000+ people yearly
- Plan to raise $1 million+ in the next 12 months
- Have 3+ years of operations and a full team
- Prove past funding was used for growth
- Operate entirely within Africa
- Follow public health and financial reporting standards
